“We are, all of us, travellers from a more luminous place, remembering fragments of a lost language of starlight.”
I’m a writer from northern Kentucky with a heart full of stories and a head that’s a bit too full altogether. My journey with words began early, I was that odd girl who always had a book in hand. Today, I craft stories that blur the lines between reality and fantasy, exploring themes of identity, connection, and the quiet magic that exists in everyday life.
When I’m not writing you might find me lost in photography, painting, web weaving, or adding another book to my ever-growing collection. I believe in the importance of authenticity and the transformative nature of storytelling. The world, I’ve found, is often so much stranger than fiction. And far harder to navigate. I often feel like a foreigner, even in my own country. And yet, I strive to be both a dreamer and a doer, a woman of action as well as words. To create from a place of sincerity, that is my deepest wish.
Ursula K. Le Guin, Peter S. Beagle, Anne Carson, Diana Wynne Jones, Richard Siken, these are all fellow writers who I admire deeply. My writing is influenced by the works of many that came before me and I know the subtle influences shine through. But my words are still my own. Equally shaped by quiet moments, overheard conversations, lived experiences, and the gentle push and pull of human connections. I write to understand, to explore, to share the wonder I see in the world. But also, to share the deep pain as well. I aim to capture pieces of reality as it truly is, as well as how it could be. And I often find that in celebrating both light & shadow, I am set free.
Education & Background:
Writing has been my hobby for ages. I’ve participated in text based roleplaying on and off since I was a very young girl, I’ve written my share of fanfiction, and poetry, in stolen moments of free time. I do not have any traditional writing degrees, though I often think of returning to college, workshops, and courses. With the path I’m currently on it’s likely I will be a life-long student & lover of language.
